What’s the story?
Financial uncertainty triggered by recent events such as Brexit has put off speculative sellers, causing the number of UK sellers coming to market to fall by 12.5% in comparison to last year.
Ironically, this means that those who are listing their properties now have a better chance of selling, as buyers are more keen than ever to ensure they reach completion on a sale, with data showing that the percentage of sales agreed that have fallen through has reached its lowest since 2015.
All of this suggests that it is actually a good time to sell, with those coming onto the market facing less competition and prospective buyers granted a lower negotiating power.
